With the help of the Local Heritage Initiative and a local Software Consultant, the Society has begun a project to convert its archives into an electronic format. The first phase of this project has delivered a web based search facility, the Online Archive Index. This allows the existing archive index to be searched both online and in a format that can be transferred onto a home computer. This service is free. The next phase aims to transfer all the documents in the archive into an electronic format and will begin shortly. |
